30
Hour Famine - May 16 & 17 2009
We did it!! There were 28 kids and 6 leaders that went 30 hours without food
on May 16 and 17. We raised enough money to feed 7 kids for an entrire year
through World Vision!! We also worked at the River of Life Rescue mission, slept
in cardboard boxes, helped an elderly woman with some major yard work, and all
had a great time! Most of all we grew in compassion by learning about hunger,
poverty, and God's main plan for taking care of the less fortunate - US!
"I can't think of a better way that I could have spent my weekend!" - TJ
"It was awesome!!" - Natalie
"I'm glad I did it. I can't imagine what people
go through, we have so much!" - Kirsten
Creation
Festival July 2009
We led a group of 30 people (15 from Eastwind) to the Gorge to join 20,000+
others for 4 days of concerts with 60 bands, seminars, camping, and tons of
memories. Eastwind kids sang on the jumbo-tron with the lead singer from Hawk
Nelson, rocked out with Skillet for two encores, swam in the Columbia River,
ate liquid nitrogen ice cream, worshiped under candlelight with Chris Tomlin,
and even won a signed guitar. But the best part was the commitments made for
Christ - several for the first time. Thanks be to our Creator!!

Youth Winter Camp January 18 -21, 2008 McCall, Idaho – A handful
of our Jr. High and High School Youth kids hooked up with kids from Cole Community
church. They enjoyed lots of awesome music, a great inspirational speaker, games,
plenty of food and snacks. They also got to spend a day at Brundage or on the
tubing hill. There was plenty of snow to go around. And the best part was they
had the opportunity to give their lives to Jesus Christ, to make new friends,
and see what a life with Jesus is really all about.

<<< Scavenger Hunt: December 12, 2007 Instead of being inside the youth room, like always, the youth had the opportunity to have fun with a community-wide scavenger hunt. They each had a list of tasks to complete. The Jr. Highers competed against the High Schoolers. Points were awarded on the number of tasks completed, and how quickly they could complete them. We also posted flyers for out annual Boise to Bethlehem Drive-Through Nativity. It may have been cold, but the smiles on their faces were warmer than the outside temperature.

Youth Sunday: November 25, 2007 The Jr. High and High School Youth
group had an opportunity to put together a complete Sunday service, including;
worship, announcements, communion, and the sermon given by Jesse. It allows
them to live their faith a little bit. All who participated did a great job.
Please encouraged those who participated and give them a ‘thanks’
or a ‘great job.’ And even encourage those who did not participate
,as it may have an impact that you may never know.
Halloween Take-A-Treat: October 31, 2007 Well, while every other teenager in the Treasure Valley was out trick-or-treating on Halloween Night, WE are very proud to say that our Jr. High and High Schoolers were out collecting canned goods for the Boise Food Pantry! Ok, Ok, they did get to collect plenty of candy as well. Over all we collect OVER 600 cans/boxes/bags of food for those in need! Amazing! We do want to thank all those kids that participated in this food drive. We know they probably would have had a bit more fun if they had been out someplace else, but we were glad they came with us.

Youth Lock-in: August 11, 2007 Each year, to kick off our Youth Group
Midweek meetings, we have a great big party!! This year we met at the Church
to drop off all sleeping bags, Xboxes, and clothes, and anything else they
thought they needed for a sleepover. After a quick session from Jesse, we
caravanned off to BOONDOCKS Family Fun Center (you’ve see the commercials).
We were able to rent the Fun Center from 9pm until 2am, just us, nobody else,
unlimited video games. They had free all-you-can-eat pizza and drinks as well.
We made it back to the church around 2:30am to get ready for bed…. Riiiiiiiiight.
From then on, activities consisted of Xbox games, a rowdy game of Spoons,
a movie on the big screen, and other miscellaneous games. Some kids even went
out and laid on the grass looking up at the stars, they say they say about
10 shooting stars. We look forward to having
