To communicate the message of the Bible with creativity and cultural relevance, so that non-believers will become devoted followers of Christ, and believers will continue to grow in a faith that is active, positive and relevant.

This mission statement concisely expresses the reason for our existence. It defines our purpose, charts our future and gives a solid basis for all of our decision-making. This mission statement has grown from a Biblical study of the purposes of the church as outlined in the New Testament.

This Mission Statement also emphasizes what is most unique about Eastwind Community Church.

We are committed to cultural relevance. In other words we extensively utilize communication techniques, which are not ordinarily associated with traditional churches but are common within our culture. Such techniques include visual media, drama, modern secular music that speaks to Biblical topics, and an absence of church vocabulary.

We are committed to creativity. We believe it is a sin to make the Bible boring. We are constantly thinking about new ideas to present the old message in ways that stimulate and excite the modern mind.

We are committed to providing multiple opportunities for expressing faith in action. These include international working mission excursions, local service projects to the needy, and inter-racial / ecumenical cooperation in our community.

We are committed to a positive relationship with our culture and community. We want to be known by what we're for, not by what we're against. We want to provide a moral conscience but not to become the morality police. We desire to maintain a spiritual agenda, not a political one. We wish to foster and environment that allows non-believers to feel they will be accepted, not judged.
