What
should I expect at a Sunday morning worship service?At our 9:00 and 10:30 Sunday Morning Worship Services, we present the message of the Bible with lots of energy, joy, and good humor. We utilize drama, multi-media, contemporary music, and a message that connects with people's modern lives. People who haven't attended church, or for some reason have quit going to church, are very likely to feel comfortable and welcome at our services. In addition, long-time practicing Christians find that our Sunday morning service inspires them towards a faith that is more positive, active, and relevant.
Non-denominational means that Eastwind is not a member of an established denomination like the Presbyterian, Lutheran, Methodist, or Baptist churches nor are we a Roman Catholic Church. In spite of that we share many of the same basic beliefs in God, Jesus Christ, the Bible and the Christian life. We are an independent church and do not receive funding or directives from any higher church governing body.
Yes. Even though weddings are not the major focus of our mission we do host weddings at our church facility when it is not being used for other functions. Weddings can be performed by one of our own pastors or by an outside pastor upon approval of Eastwind’s senior pastor or administrative pastor. There are various fees for having a wedding at the church facility. For more information contact our wedding coordinator, Betsy Miller at 447-8660.
Dress is very casual at Eastwind. You will see people wearing jeans and short pants during the summer. And yes, very infrequently someone with a coat and tie.
We dedicate babies at Eastwind whereas some other churches practice infant baptism. Click here for more information.
Yes! The church building is all on one level with no stairs anywhere. All doors, hall ways, rooms and rest rooms are handicapped accessible.
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of each month at both worship services. Everyone is invited to participate but participation is completely optional. You will not feel conspicuous if you chose not to participate.
