Empower Burangi

We are committed to empowering the Burangi community in Kenya. We have taken three teams of Eastwind members to the remote rural area in Burangi Kenya during the last 4 years. People living in this area experience extreme poverty, walk many miles each day to find unsafe water, and cannot access health care. We have partnered with Genesis World Mission and Map International to facilitate a “Total Health Village”, a community with clean water, r Water Catchment Pit ain catchment pits for irrigation and fish farms, and a health care center.

Just last month, the sister of a dedicated volunteer died four days after the delivery of her baby. This tragedy could have been prevented if she had been educated in postpartum care or if she could have gone to a local clinic to be evaluated by a medical professional. Instead, another orphan will never know his mother. Our partnership with Genesis World Mission and Map International will lessen this kind of pain and needless suffering.

Water Tank Team

Our holistic approach ensures sustainability and prevents financial dependency, as the community is actively in involved in the process. This community is improving their overall health and are bringing THEMSELVES out of poverty.
