Children's Ministry

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
- Matthew 19:14

Welcome to Kidmission Children’s ministry. We believe that kids can do great things even when they are young! “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

All of the curriculum we use from Group Publishing encourages small group discussion and provides hands-on examples for kids to better understand the lessons. We also supplement this curriculum with outreach projects and lessons about those in need. Every month Kidmission kids will participate in an outreach project that will either impact our community or others in the world. Through this curriculum, we hope the kids will experience God’s love living through them as they help others. We hope they will experience God’s love coming back to them as they serve. We hope they will come to appreciate being a part of something larger and more important than themselves. We hope these experiences will provide them with perspective on the world and their place in it. We hope, and pray, it will lay the foundation for serving others as they grow up. Ultimately, we hope these experiences will draw them closer to God. We will need adults to help make some of these projects possible. Also, extra volunteers on the first Sunday of each month when we do these projects. Also, we encourage the church to just be responsive to the kid’s projects.

We want to partner with parents to help them be spiritual leaders at home. Please make sure you visit SPLINK on our home page to get a free devotion to do with your kids each week! We also hope you’ll join us in the family events we have throughout the year!

Our Programs

Children's Church - during 9:00 service Children's Church is available for ages 2 through 6th grade. Children will begin church with their parents and be dismissed after the opening song. This program has a different format from the 10:30 service but is just as exciting and interactive.

Kidmission - during 10:30 service The K-2 groups will have a fun, upbeat, interactive worship and lesson lead by an M.C. They will then break into small discussion groups with a leader. The 3rd-6th graders will have a similar format but with a twist. A youth band will open up with live worship time. Both groups are in newly designed rooms that create an environment kids love to be in.

Announcing our new class for 5th and 6th graders! Route 56! The class officially begins February 21st and will be meeting in the church office for now. We will be using "Grapple" curriculum that is designed to meet preteens right where they are. For more information please visit the website, http://www.group.com/grapple/

Children's Ministry Outreach Update We are thrilled to have sponsored two children from Compassion International. Both the K-2nd and 3rd - 6th classes will have opportunities to write to those children and learn about th eir lives. Not only are we praying for strong relationships with our kids from Eastwind but a chance for our sponsored children to hear about Christ. Our $32 each month will provide food and clean water, medical care, educational opportunities, important life-skills training and most of all encouragement to develop a lifelong relationship with God. * Please let us know if you have any outreach projects you think the Children's Ministry would like to participate in. We are always looking for opportunities to get our children involved outside the walls of the church.

"Underwater Odyssey" Several times a year we offer a baptism course for kids and their parents. This class run for six weeks. We ask that children under the age of 10 be accompanied by at least one guardian. For more information or to sign up please call Karissa at 695-5138 or karissaschultz@yahoo.com

Our Mission

"Children are a heritage and a gift that
comes from the Lord God"
- Psalms 127:3

For the Children: Our desired goal for the children is for them to receive a solid biblical teaching in a creative, fun and loving environment, where a contagious faith in Christ is spread from our Children's Ministry tem, to the child and then out into the world.

For the Parents: Our desired goal for the parents is for them to be reassured that their child is receiving Godly teaching and is personally loved and prayed for by the staff, while encouraging and equipping the parents to continue the Christian education in the home.

For the Children's Ministry Team: Our desired goal for the Children's ministry team (all Sunday School staff and volunteers) is for them to grow spiritually through their service, unite as a team within their ministry, and be equipped with new ideas through training so their time with the children is fully utilized for the teaching of biblical truth and establishing of relationships.

Safety is our first priority. We ask that you please make sure your child is checked into their classroom and picked up by a legal guardian after the service. Also, we ask that you fill out a registration form and alert us of any allergies or special needs. All of our children's ministry volunteers are screened and have been in regular attendance for at least six months.

Come Join Our Team

Please let us know if you'd like to be a part of this amazing team! Who knows, by trying it for a while you may just find your gift. It is important to us to have consistency in our programming. This will help kids feel comfortable and relate. We cannot fail in caring for the most glorious gift God has given us... our children.
